Everytime I curve my back inwards, or move my hips backwards, I hear/feel a cracking in the lower vertebrates of my spine. I'm not too sure whether two vertebrates are grinding against one another, but surely that would hurt quite a bit..?
The clicking sound can be due to arthritis (as in spondylitis), sprain, or due to inter vertebral disc problem. A MRI is required to reach a diagnosis. Do consult an orthopedic specialist for this. Since you do not have neurological symptoms, backache etc, things could be in early stages and taken care of by conservative measures.
We have a similar discussion on our forum that you can read: http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Arthritis/messages/194.html Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
