Spotting and Cramping on Seasonale

Recently my boyfriend and I started making love without a condom.  I've been on Birthcontrol for some time but we decided we trusted each other enough to use the pill alone.  I switched (almost 2months ago) to Seasonale from OrthoTriCyclin Lo and i know the side effects.  One of them is spotting, which, since we last made love on Jan 2, I have been experiencing.  That's 11 days now.  My period, because of the extended regimine of Seasonale, isn't due for another month!  While the spotting isn't particularly alarming, the way it looks its heaviness (enough to show on my panties consistently over the past 8 days or so), its consistancy (brown-black, almost tar like chunks), and the symptoms with it are.  I've had diaherria, headaches, mild-moderate cramping in no specific spot, and a HUGE increase in appetite.  Has anyone else experienced this while on birth control?  I feel similar to how my periods felt when I wasn't on the the pill!   Heeeeelp.

I think going from Ortho Lo to Seasonale will be a big change on your body because the hormone doseage is much higher, and it's a consistent dosage, not tri-phasic -- I would stick it out with the Seasonale for at least 3 months and see how you feel. If you're still spotting, you might want to consider switching.

My sister switched from Seasonle to Lo - and was spotting (heavy-ish like you described) for a month, until her body acclamated to the Lo... You're probably going through that - especially with the increase in appetite, etc...

FYI, I was on Seasonale & loved it for 3 years, no symptoms, THEN, for some reason after 3 years I started to get really weird side effects & went back to OrthoTriCyclen.

When I got on ortho tri cyclin I started to eat non stop. I am usually really really skinny and I have a little puidge now! I am ver self consious about my weight. I am 5 foot 8 and I weighed 128 pounds before I went on Birthcontrol now I am 138 pounds.
