Stabbing pain and vertigo

I have Meniere's Disease and get vertigo from time to time. Lately, I have been getting a sharp, stabbing pain on the right side of my head after the vertigo. It starts at ear level, but progresses up the side of the head. It has been going on now for several days and is intolerable. I can't work or sleep and this is affecting the quality of my life.

Any ideas on what it might be?
