Stomach discomfort

by js12367, Aug 25, 2008 11:14PM
Does anyone have any idea what I might have?  There is a weird feeling, like pressure/bloating/empty pocket in my the right side of my stomach/abdomen.  It is not painful, but it has been going on for about a year now.  Sometimes its not there, but most of the time it is.  I already had my appendix removed.  I have seen 2 doctors and a surgeon.  They all tested me for hernia but they all don't know what it is.  The surgeon just gave me a shot directly into the are, I think it was morphine, it made me feel like I was missing my entire right side of my stomach area for about a half hour.  He said maybe something shifted and the shot would make everything "loose" and then re-settle.  After doing some of my own research the closest thing I could come up with was scar adhesions, but Im not having any bowel trouble.

Hi,

How are you?
Adhesions occur in response to an abdominal surgery. The most frequent problem with adhesions is constriction of the small intestine which leads to constipation. They can also cause intestinal obstruction.
Since you do not have any such symptoms it seems very unlikely that you have scar adhesions.
Since you mention bloating, the discomfort that you are experiencing can be due to gas formation. I would suggest you to eat a soft bland diet for a few days and make sure you eat plenty of green vegetables and fresh fruits and exercise daily.
Hope this helps!
