Strange symptoms after giving birth

I would like to know if anyone has a good information about what the body goes through after giving birth.  My wife recently gave birth to our new son and needed to have a c-section.

Since we came home from the hospital she's been having chills that come and go as well as feeling nauseous frequently.  Is this normal after giving birth?  What might cause something like this to happen shortly after giving birth and how long might we expect it to last?

This could be an infection. If this has been ruled out, then a good possibility is magnesium deficiency. Stressful conditions, like surgery, require more magnesium use by the body. Magnesium deficiency symptoms include tremors, nausea and vomiting.

I did not have a c-section, but that definately does not sound normal... you should contact her doctor with symptoms immediately, or go back to the hospital at least to be checked....

Seriously?  Call her doctor immediately!  She could have infection setting in.  You need to be in close contact with her doctor during this time.  They used to keep women in the hospital for a week ... for a reason.  You need to be her advocate here.
