Strep Throat

by kendro24, Dec 23, 2006 12:00AM
Hey.After having a sore throat feeling for a week and would not go away i finally went to the doctor about a week and half later from when i first felt sick.  last wednesday (13th) i went to the doctor and was tested for mono and strep.  My mono came back negative but strep came back positive, the docs gave me penicillin and ive taken it and finished the 10 day (3x) dosage today.  After initially taking the med my throat went down very much and the soreness away, But still my left lymphnode under my chin in neck is there i can still feel it, its not as swollen but still there and has me worrying.  I still have mucus that i have to get out of my throat every so often.  Therefore I want to know about how long can it be that my left lymphnode will be feelable and still there until it shrinks? Should I be nervous because i tendto over react. and is there anything I can do to help out the process?

Thank you.
