Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Tendinitis (inflammation of a muscle tendon), bursitis and rotator cuff injury can cause painful swollen shoulder. If you have had a fall or accident or injury in the recent past, then this injury is the reason for your problems. Please do not ignore it and consult an orthopedic specialist. Rest, application of ice, and anti-inflammatory medicines such as aspirin, naproxen, ibuprofen may help. However without examination of your shoulder, it is difficult to comment.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
