Swollan glans sore throat

My Glands that I know of have been swollan for about a month with sore throat, I do have a broken tooth that I need to get pulled out. My glands get big and then shrink and then big again. I went to the ER to be looked at and they gave me a Antibiotic. I have a Appt on Monday to get my tooth pulled but am still worried about my Glands. I have not had any Fever and I do smoke but trying to stop. My Neck has been kind of stiff and GLAND are tender I dont notice any other lumps under my Arm pits or groin. The ones in my Neck are the size of olives but when it started out they were the size of a small plum. I was wondering how long can they take to go dowm.
