Swollen lymphnodes for 8 months

Hello, I'm an 18 year old female, who has been experiencing I guess "swollen lymphnodes" for 8 months, they first appeared back in October. I first oneday noticed the very small one on the back of my head ( and it's never once grown bigger it's on the left side the same side my infected - cavity tooth is ) then a few days apart I was on my bed and twisted my neck by moving it way to fast to do something , and I felt pain from twisting my neck and then my right side lymphnode (deep cervical area) was swollen . I am a hypochondriac and I completely freaked out when I saw this large lymphnode on the side of my neck, I googled some remedies and tried warm compress and castor oil once and it has gotten much smaller than the size it was (I'd say large grape size was the original size) , so I went to do doctors and they examined it and said other patients my age came in for the same thing and it turned out to be allergies. And to take some Claritin if I wanted to everyday, but the lymphnode will go away on its own if it wanted to. They also ran tests for strep throat because my throat had some redness, I had common cold like symptoms and allergies. Sore throat, watery eyes, constant sneezing, coughing. Now fast forward, over time I've experienced maybe 4 minor night sweats, but these have occurred around menstruation time because I usually get hotter I always sleep with a thick blanket. And it's not a drenching night sweat at all. Now that I've had these for 8 months they've not grown in size at all, but they're not completely gone but did get smaller — Should I be concerned ? I've been losing sleep over this and constantly crying, because my best friend had lymphoma before , so of course my anxiety when it comes to health takes something to whole another level. I've spoken with many doctors via text and in person and they've never been concerned, my concern comes from googling and from my friends health past. My family has no history of cancers, aside from very distant relatives 2 older women had breast cancer, and 1 great , great uncle had colon cancer. My mother is a nurse by the way and shes become overwhelmed with my frequent panic attacks about this. Is it a good sign that they're not growing and did get smaller but aren't completely down ? Can allergies and my cavity be a cause for this? And for the one on the back of my head I googled it and it said cancer is very unlikely for that to swell that it's very very rare which gave me relief , and that a head infection is very common even dandruff which I've been dealing with dandruff . Please let me know so I can have some piece in mind.

Hello Balqees~I am so sorry you having all this anxiety. First, I suggest you stop the Goggling, it only adds more stress and 9 out of 10 times does not even pertain to the issue you may have.

I can relate to health anxiety, I have it too, it is no fun. Let me reassure you, your doctor and your mom are right, there is nothing wrong with you. You have obviously had tests, talked to health care professionals and they all give you a clean bill of health. The fact that they have gotten smaller is a wonderful sign as well.

Yes, allergies and the cavity, if infected, could cause the lumps, but again, I doubt if this is the case. What might be causing them are some misplaced vertebrae in your neck, when I read that you had a large one after turning your neck and felt pain, that gave me the clue; that is common in dislocated vertebrae in the neck. I would see a chiropractor, he/she will take a cervical x-ray and that will determine what area of the neck is causing the issues, an adjustment or two should have you fixed up in no time.

Again, try not to worry, I am sure there is nothing seriously wrong, Dr Google has just fired the fear in you and that is all. You are fortunate to have a mother who is a nurse, she would not lead you astray and neither would the physicians you are seeing. Relax and enjoy life.   :-)
