Temporary but extreme pain

For the past week my knee has been bothering me, I decided it was because for the past couple months i was closing my locker with my knee. but on Friday I was sitting on some shopping carts and I pushed myself off them, landed fine but the I couldn't bend my knee past a certain point. When i was in 7th grade, I was 13 and I got hit by a car and had two screws put into my knee. Now I'm 15. After a few days of waiting it out, I progressively got better and could bend my knee, as long as I wasn't doing it by myself, for example if I lay on my back I could bring my knee to my butt without pain and If I am sitting in a chair I could pull my knee to the chair with my hands but whenever I try to do it myself I i feel a temporary but extreme pain, and then I could move it back the remainder of the way I found out exactly where it hurts and when I push down on the spot and I move my leg until it hurts I feel a bulge with my fingers. Does anyone have any idea what this is?

It is difficult to say what it could be. Definitely X-ray of the knee should be done to know whether the screws are displaced or not. It is possible that the screws are displaced and they pinch or press at a particular point causing pain.
