I'm not having any luck finding information through the other forums on this. I saw an ENT about 2 months ago for a chronic cough, he prescribed a pile of meds for GERD and PND to be taken for two weeks and I ended up worse than I started. I almost wish it was just the chronic cough, that I could live with. Here's what I have that no one seems to be able to diagnose:
- white "stuff" covering my tongue every morning to varying degrees.
- strong white marks on the back sides and top of tongue, and a few smaller white marks near the front that can be scraped off with a tongue brush, but come back later in the day. They also disappear after eating.
- Cough is still there, not so bad though
- swollen tonsils, irritated uvula, quite red
- odd swelling under back of tongue
- two odd things protruding that look EXACTLY like this:

- sore, tight neck
I've seen a few GPs so far, two of them did fungal swabs which came back negative for fungus, and they said that means it's not candida. I can scrape it off so it's not OHL or leukoplakia. The ONLY clue I have, is that I tried taking Zantac for two weeks and after the first day, my tongue was back to normal! Then 3 days later it all came back along with a bad dry cough and sore throat that lasted up to now. I have been tested for HIV, Syphilis and herpes, all negative. I also had a full blood count which came back normal.
Does anyone have any ideas what is happening to me? Two of the GPs said that since I took so much medicine these past few months, my body's immune system is all messed up and will take some time to readjust. That sounds too vague to me,... help?
