Throat Soreness

For the past 3 weeks I've had three spells with my throat. I think it involves my lymph nodes. The first time it happened, the right side of my throat was hurting. I thought it was muscle pains becuase nothing felt swollen. It went away and I thought it was a one time ordeal. Last weds. I had this really bad sharp pain right below my right ear. It felt like someone was literaly taking a knife and stabbing it. The pain spread throughout the right side of my throat and lasted about 30 minutes then it went away. Last night the area below my chin hurt extremely bad for about 4 minutes, then it went away. I've been having a slight weeze accompanying all this. Yesterday I woke up with symptoms of a sore throat but then it quickly went away. Also occasionally I've had  slight runny nose. Could all this be becaues of a bacterial infection?

Could also be gastric reflux...and you don't even have to have symptoms for this to occur.  It's when the acid from your stomach splashes up into your throat.  It can cause a myriad of symptoms, including throat pain, hoarseness, throat clearing, etc.  You could google this term and find out if your symptoms are even close.  Just an idea...

Thanks for your response. No I I haven't been running a fever or coughing up anything.  Just this occassional pain. It's not continuous so I would assume it's nothing really severe but I also have never had my wisdom teeth come in and I'm still relatively young (18) so would this be an issue as well? I'm gonna schedule a dentist appointment tomorrow for my yearly checkup and I'll get the dentist to check and make sure.

I also have to note that I'm currently have a feeling that something is lodged at the base of my throat. I'm not having any problems swallowing and I looked in the mirror and there's no bulge or anything at the base of my throat were it feels like something is stuck. I also have to note that I've been having alot of muscle twitches lately as well.

A sinus infection can create symptoms in all of the areas you discussed.
Also, an infected tooth can do the same...I know that sounds crazy, but my husband had some dental issues, and his whole head practically hurt.
It should be relatively simple to check...just go to the doc.  Do you have a fever?  Any phlegm that you are spitting/coughing up?  What about headaches?
