Throbbing in my joints

I am an 18 yr old female, since i was a kid I had a throbbing pain in my shoulder which would happen about once a month the pain is so bad at times that I have to stop what i'm doing, I've been going to massage therapy about once every two months it seems to help the throbbing from happening, Although recently the throbbing has spread to my knee and my ankle. I have no Idea what this is.

You should see a doctor.  If he cannot find out what is wrong, see a certified/licensed accupuncturist.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Joint pain since childhood could be due to rheumatic pain or even rheumatoid arthritis. It can also be due to calcium or Vit D deficiency. Sudden onset multiple joint pain can also be due MS, lupus, gout, viral fever, or chronic fatigue syndrome.
Hope this helps. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
