Thyroid

I had a blood test for my thyroid which in turn came back very high for my total tsh of 44 I know this means hypothyroidism. My doctor immediately put me on medication 100mcg of sythroid, doesnt seem to be helping much, I have headaches, body aches, some days I am really able to get up and go than other days I am so tired I cant really function. I have not been to an endocrinologist. I also have fibromyalgia. My t4 is now a little high, should I be tested for something else that may have to do with the other symptoms?

Do see your doctor again about your symptoms.

I would see a doctor about them, and possibly change the medication you are on as this medication, doesn't seem to be the right for you.

I was having problems getting my TSH down too and my Endo changed me to name brand only and it has seemed to be helping, my numbers are starting to go down.  He explained that the generic compounds can change slightly and the medication is not the same everytime it is filled.  Good luck!
