Tiredness/Lack of energy

Hi for the past 12 months i have been experiencing a degradation in energy.  I have been to see my doctor who has taken blood samples which came back clear. The past 6 months have seen things get really bad whereupon it can take me an hour to get out of bed in the morning..no matter how much sleep i get - when i wake up it feels like i haven't been to bed.  I eat a very well balanced diet, only drink water, green/red/herbal teas & taek Centrum Multi Vitamins daily.  I don't drink alcohol, i don't smoke.  I exercise very regularly without overdoing it.  I have been in the Armed Forces and consider myself to be athletically fit.  Out of desperation i made an appointment to see a dr of Traditional Chinese Medecine who said i had a problem with my liver??  After weeks of accupuncture/accupressure and Traditional Chinese Herbal medecine i feel no better.  Please help.

Hi, i had thought about mentioning this to my Dr and now that you've mentioned it i think i will.  What is generally involved with a sleep test and how long does it take?

Another thing that keeps coming up as i do my own research is adrenal fatigue?  I've never heard of this before but apparently it is now recognised by the WHO yet apparently still many doctors are reluctant to diagnose this?

I just thought of something as I was reading your response.  Maybe you need to have a sleep test to see if you are sleeping well at night.  If you aren't that would be why you feel so lousey in the morning.  I had one done a few years ago, it was easy.  Just need a doctor to prescribe it and go to a sleep clinic for a night.
Let me know how you are please.

My Dr has already gone down the depression avenue, however as i pointed out - i wouldn't at all say i was depressed.  I have been unhappy in the past (haven't we all?) but life feels better now.  I don't feel any pain, just fatigue - especially in the morning.  As i explained to my Dr, i feel i have to be careful in my explanation of how i feel - i feel unhappy (not depressed) but i am sure this is through frustration of feeling the way i do when i wake up....vicious circle!  To satisfy my Dr, i agreed to see a Mental Health specialist who said i may be touching on ever so mild depression and offered a "weak" pill.  I personally don't think this is the answer and refused.  PTSD is not an issue.  The only time i feel energetic is when i am training.  It's very frustrating!

Do you feel depressed or do you feel physically exhausted?  I refuse to allow someone to bring up depression until all physical aspects have been ruled out.  Has your regular doctor checked your blood for ANA?  Do you have any pain or just the fatigue?  If you have an autoimmune disease, chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia you would feel this way.  Are you in pain or just really fatigued?  You're not suffering from PTSD are you?  I noticed you mentioned the military.  Please let me know...

Chinese accupunturists usually hit the bull's eye with me when our own doctors don't. Aside from the meds he gave you and the treatment, you should look into ways of changing eating and drinking habits to improve your liver condition naturally- well, it looks you get this part well.
And I would say... why don't you see a therapist?
Did you ever consider you could be depressed?
If you were never depressed before, you probably do not relate lack of energy with depression but, yes, it is a symptom.
If that's the case, maybe you just need a new challenge.
Hope you feel better! Good luck!
