Tremors at night

For the past two nights I have experienced strange tremors in my arms, shoulders and upper body in general. It feels like it's in my muscles. I can't fall asleep. It's making me anxious, so my heart races. I've been tested recently for Lyme's Disease, infections and blood count for swollen lymph nodes, and everything has come back normal. This is a recent development and I have no idea where it came from. Can you help? Thanks.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The tremors can be side effects of medication you are taking. It can be stress anxiety and maybe more of caffeine intake, alcohol or smoking. It can be hormonal imbalance due to PCOD. Low salt and low blood sugar can also precipitate tremors. Please consult your PCP for this.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Some allergy meds can cause nervousness, anxiety, agitation.  I'd check out the side effects for yours online.

Anxiety, from any cause, can make you sleepless, give you a racing heartbeat, tense muscles, shakes, twitches and all kinds of strange sensations.  If you don't have to take the allergy meds, maybe stay off it for a few days and see if your symptoms subside.

If that doesn't help, ask yourself if maybe you're under a lot of stress at home or at work.  Even if you don't feel sad or upset, it wouldn't hurt to go through the depression/anxiety checklist.  Also, maybe try exercising (not later than 3 hours before bedtime), taking your mind off your symptoms, or doing some yoga or relaxing stretches to help quiet your muscles. If any of these things works, it will be cheaper and less stressful than putting yourself through tons of medical tests.....  Best wishes
