Tremors

I'm having body tremors.  Body vibrations is a little more descriptive.  All of this takes place without any outward visibility.  I saw a Neurologist and he said he couldn't find anything so there was nothing seriously wrong with me. And, that in the old days they would give 'someone like me' a placebo and in many cases that would do the trick.  Wow, I really appreciated that.  Of course, I don't want anything serious to be the problem.  But, vibrating on the inside is something, but what?   I've had a physical exam with all the accompanying blood tests and because of my former pescetarian lifestyle, I had a blood test for mercury.  Everything came back normal.  The Neurologist has prescribed gabapentin.  I'm checking into it to see if I should take this, as I feel the doctor was like, well let's see what I can possibly give you to satisfy your need to 'fix' this problem.  I guess you can tell I was not very pleased with the doctors attitude.  If anyone has like symptoms or information to pass on to me, it would be very much appreciated.  Thank you.

Thanks for the responses. The tremors started last January.  I've been on a low dose of synthroid for my thyroid for 20 years and was recently checked and was within normal range.  I'm a young ;) 58 and have been in menopause for 5 years.  Still have bouts of hot flashes - handle with over the counter remedies.  Because of different reasons including problems with fibroids Inever wanted to do HRT.  I'm also on meds for asthma, allergies and indigestion - advair, singulair, rhinocort and aciphex.  I will continue to pursue all avenues.  It's very interesting to see that so many people have similar symptoms.  Hopefully, one day we'll all be 'cured'.  And, btw, I'm writing a letter to the doctor that thinks this is either in my mind or not a big deal anyway. Just because he doesn't have the answer doesn't mean an answer isn't out there.  Thank you Medhelp community!

Hi
Welcome to the forum!
It is possible to feel tremors all over the body. Tremors are often associated with drugs, alcohol, smoking, lack of sleep, stress and fatigue. They can be seen in peripheral neuropathies of diabetes, in hyperthyroidism, parasomnia, multiple sclerosis, TIAs or transient ischemic attacks or mini strokes, hypoglycemia, disorders of calcium metabolism, hyperparathyroidism etc.It can also be seen in menopause, if you are in that age group.
Consult an internal medicine specialist or your PCP. Discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Hmm, I just **love** doctors :-)  Sorry.  Calmly and politely tell them that you don't appreciate their comments when they talk to you like that and don't be drawn into any further discussion of their behaviour.  Why tolerate such ignorance and rudeness?

Thyroid ok?  Any sensation of lump in your throat but when you feel with your hands, thre's nothing odd there?

Did they check the health of your spinal cord?  Hormone levels normal?

Are you currently on any medication for anything else?

Good luck.
