hmm, have you ever heard of (Trench mouth) I know,It's a horrible slang name,Its a oral infection . Also Thresh ...I know when you google the symptoms or the majority of patients that suffer these infections-viruses sound extreme but when I work (Urgent Care) we see more cases with less extreme symptoms and health history. You just never know, when kids are playing-I saw sweet little girl the other day that shared a oral-retainer with another child ~?~ Also, kids will just use other kids tooth brushes ,put things in their mouth at school communal accessories, without telling their folks cause they don't want to disappoint them:) I really hope you will find the answer ASAP! Thinking of you and your daughter~Blessings!
Just go off of the phone with the er nurse strep came back negative still waiting on culture for other possibilites but she said if her symptoms are caused by the herpes virus which causes cold sores it can cause her gums to bleed like this so I am feeling a little better. I will keep you updated on final diagnoses.
Thank you for your help. Thank goodness her fever has broke. But her gums are still swollen and bleeing. When they bleed it is more than just seeing blood in sink it drips from her mouth. This is scaring the heck out of me. I took her to the doctor and the dotor was not concerned he said it was probably a virus because of the sores in her mouth he said it could be the herpes virus but did not want to test her to verify and sent us on our way. Later we took her to the er and they are testing her for coxsackie virus, herpes and strep which all three can cause symptoms like these. I have to wait 3-5 days for test results and just was wondering if anyone has ever experienced this before if her gums swelling and bleeding this much is normal for these types of viruses. At least the er doctor gave us some antibiotics and antiviral meds to help her until we figure this out. I dont know I have three kids and I have never seen or heard of anything like this before. Thank you so much for your well wishes I have been searching on the internet all night was on hold for advice nurse for 1 and 10 min before I gave up I just can't seem to get the answer to my questions about her gums bleeding like this. I will let you know what I find out today.
She is six. I know I am very glad her fever broke.
your daughter could have an infection or gum disease. the main symptom of gum disease is bleeding gums. then if it is left untreated it could lead to tooth loss. speak to your doctor and also speak to your dentist. i hope your daughter feels ok soon.i don't know what has been causing her to have a high temperature. i think it could be to do with an infection. if her temperature goes back to one hundred or over take her straight to hospital. if you don't she could pass out from being to hot. can you tell me what happened and if i have helped in any way.thanks.
May I ask your daughters age? Thank God,her fever broke !
