Undiagnosed Lymph Node Problems; Please Help!

About two months ago now, I noticed a sudden occurrence of a lump in the crease of where your thigh meets the pelvic area, this came on fairly suddenly and was alarmingly painful.
As I had recently started working out again after a long break due to a torn ACL, I suspected maybe I had given myself a hernia. Although I wasn't immediately concerned as I had just discovered it. But after a few days and the bump providing no evidence that it was going to leave soon, I made myself go to the doctor.
There I told my family physician I suspected I may have given myself a hernia due to pushing myself to far in my recent return to fitness. She palpated the area and confirmed my suspicion, and agreed she believed it to be a hernia as well, therefore I was referred to the general surgeon.
As I met with the surgeon, and underwent an excruciating palpation of the alarmingly large lump (which had now been there to no avail for 2+weeks), he stated he believed it to be a swollen lymph node, not a hernia.
He asked if I had any injuries or such to my left side; the affected side. I couldn't think of anything except a curious little spot on my knee that just would not heal. This spot was almost crusty, flat, with a sort of opening in the center that frequently peeled and crusted back over. This lesion had been there quite some time prior to my groin lump issue. It appears to have healed as of now, which is also confusing.
The surgeon suspected I may of caught an infection in this spot due to my position as a high school football trainer, who taped sweaty body parts all day. And found it odd a 18 year old female would have a hernia.
So the surgeon ordered blood tests, and an ultrasound. Which the blood tests came back completely normal, and the ultrasound showed a group of swollen nodes.
I was prescribed very strong antibiotics, that I have been on 2+ weeks now, I'm nearly done, and the lumps have now separated into three smaller lumps, that are still alarmingly painful and have become discolored almost looking bruised, red, warm, and still grossly inflamed.
Thus is alarming due to my prescription of antibiotics. Can anyone tell me why I have not received much relief or why these "lymph nodes" are now discolored and just as painful as before. I need answers.
The infection of the nodes now seems to be spreading down my leg, it is very warm, red, painful, and enlarged. This symptom did not appear until nearly a month and a half of the initial discovery of the lump. It almost resembles cellulitis. Please help.
