Unhealing

by mungufuata, Jul 08, 2006 12:00AM
Ok, so for the past several months, I have had open sores all over my legs that refuse to heal no matter what I do.  They just seem to get deeper and deeper.  I'm not diabetic, so what else could it be?

Could you describe the sores (shape, size, color, pain, itching, etc.), and do you have anything else out of the ordinary?

Just open and unhealing.  I know no better words for them.  At the end of June, I posted something here called "Mysterious Illness," so if you scroll down you can probably find it.  In addition to all of that, I've got this horrible oral thrush thing I can't get rid of (have had it for over a year now - terribly painful).

Hi, Have you got oral thrush ? Ive just had a horrendous bout of oral and vaginal thrush plus crops of boils which didnt heal. Have you been to the Drs ? I had two courses of antibiotics and had to be really careful with hygiene . The thrush was treated with 2 lots of fluconazole (oral tablet) plus drinking fresh lemon juice and eating plenty of probiotic yoghurts. It certainly did the trick for me. Hope this is useful to you. Chris

I am 21 years old.  The thrush at this point is unresponsive to absolutely everything, and we've tried EVERYTHING.  The doctor who has been trying to figure it out (and failing miserably) doesn't even know what else to try to cure it.

Have the sores or thrush been cultured, and have the sores been biopsied. You need a culture of the thrush to prove that's what it is. A biposy of the sores could reveal what type of sores they are, and what they are caused by. (P.S. Biposy is not just for cancer.)

Do they itch? How deep and how big are they? Do they scab over or are they just open wounds? Have you had any moskito bites? How many are there? What type of test has the doctos performed? I agree they need to be biopsied. Several months. Two, three, four, how many? Sorry for all the questions but we need more info.

Biopsy sounds pretty good.  (I know they aren't just for cancer.)  They stay open, so it's pretty gross.
