Unusual Bruises

I am 20 years old, and was recently diagnosed with migrain headaches. I was put on a blood pressure medication called Verapimil that is supposed to help with these migrains. The medication has been working for me, but I recently started finding these bruises on my legs that start out as a couple small ones and then grow really big change color about three times from a light purple to a dark purple to a red purple and then dissappear and re appear in a differen't location.
The one that I have right now started out as three small bruises and then grew into a bruise so big my Mom said it looks like I got kicked by a horse. I never bumped it on anything and it doesn't hurt like a bruise. I also have numbness all down my left side. I am wondering if this could have anything to do with the medication or if it may be something more serious?
