Urinary problems, not frequency but something is very wrong

35 yr. female, pretty healthy..... until now.

I have had bladder infection-like symptoms over the past few weeks. From light bloody urine to bright red. No blood this week though. The pain was running 2 days on - 3 days off. Now its every other day. I have constant urethral pain at times and it feels like a catheter is being removed from me at the end of my urination stream. At times, it can hurt to walk (for hours). I have taken 2 home Urinary and Bladder infection tests and both were negative.

For years now, when showering, I use my fingers and the water (never soap) to flush out inside my vaginal area. I have become very familiar with what is normal in there. As of yesterday, it is very different! It has dramatically changed. It's the difference between butter fresh from the fridge and butter that had been left out all day. Everything is soft, larger, smooshed together. I couldn't even tell it was me. I waited until after intercourse to ask my spouse about it. Sex is not uncomfortable, entrance was sensitive but not in a bad way. His response was the same that I noticed, softer and different.

I have also had a decrease in appetite and I am not as jolly (lack of smiles and laughter) as I am normally, prior to this month. What could this be? I am really, really scared now.

Maybe you need a pelvic ultrasoud to rule out ovarian or uterine cancer. If you have not had this done I would insist my OB do one.

You could be having a mild vaginal prolapse. “A vaginal prolapse is a condition in which structures such as the uterus, rectum, bladder, urethra, small bowel, or the vagina itself may begin to prolapse, or fall, out of their normal positions. Without medical treatment or surgery, these structures may eventually prolapse farther and farther into the vagina or even through the vaginal opening if their supports weaken enough.”

It could be a bladder prolapsed so you feel a pull or hurt at the end of urination. The wall of the prolapsed could be either infected or having an ulcer that bleeds.

Cancer of the genitor-urinary tract too should be ruled out.
It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. Please discuss this with your doctor (preferably a gynecologist) and get yourself investigated accordingly. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

i would make appt with urologist then gyn doctor.  explain symptoms.
