Urology Question...

About 2 1/2 months ago, I had oral & protected sex with two different partners. About a week later I had symptoms of irritation in my penis (it hurt too) - which worsened over time, then came the burning sensation and itching at the tip of the penis occassionaly. Have abdominal pain too, I also had dribbling when I was done urinating, left my boxers all wet with urine, most recently my testicles seem very tender.
I went to a walk-in clinic (I thought it was a UTI) that's what I told the Dr. he took a urine sample and said that the protein was a little more than the normal amount, so he prescribed me Cipro 750 mg, for 10 days, after that didn't work, I went back to the same clinic and he perscribed me Bactrim 850 mg, 10 days, that too DIDN'T work. So I went to a urologist, without even doing ANY examination, he said I have cystits (which I never ever had these symptoms before), he only looked at my urine sample. He put me on Uribel (which didn't work), then Puridium (Which helped temporarily, but ultimately didn't work). So I went to a different walk-in clinic, they did a STD test (Gonnorea and Clamydia test, both came back negative) Also did a urinalysis which was sent for a culture to a lab (that too came back negative, but keep in mind I was on the antibiotics which could've skewed the results). He perscribed me Doxycycline 150 mg, 10 days (that too didn't work). So I went to yet another walk-in clinic, they took a urine sample and said that my Nitrates were high (not sure what that means) but there was no flora present, so it too was sent off to the lab and came back negative. I went to a total different urologist on 12/22, he did a prostate check (which was normal), urine sample was as he put "As normal as they come". He squeezed my penis to check the urethra (it too was normal). He said that he could nothing wrong. I am not sure what to do, but the irritation and itching at the tip of the penis has gotten VERY uncomfortable. I am very concerned.I have been to yet another Urologist. I am now on Levaquin 500 mg for 10 days. He sent the urine sample off to the lab for a Cytoplasm test ($220 later), it too was negative. Also has an Ultra sound of my abdomen nothing at all found. The doctors recommendation is a cystoscopy if the antibiotics don't clear whatever this is up. On day 8 now of the levaquin and still having the same symptoms above.
What could this be? Anymore information or knowledge, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Two Urologists have checked my prostate and say that is in fact normal. How would I request a "full panel STD test from my Dr.?" Also, I was on Bactrim and Levaquin now for a combination of 24 days in a row. I just came off of the Bactrim this past Sunday. Will the STD test results give me a false negative, because I've been on all of this medication over the past few months????

Thank you!

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Itchy tip of penis can be due to genital herpes, infection under the foreskin of uncircumcised men (balanitis), fungal infection, bacterial vaginosis, inflammation of the prostate gland (prostatitis), trichomoniasis, etc. I understand you underwent a STD panel but the STD panels of various labs differ in the diseases they cover under STD. Hence apart from gonorrhea and Chlamydia other STDs should also be tested. Please discuss this with your urologist. Take care!

I had a "stone protocal" and abdominal CT scan all came back negative. I am so confused and now afraid of any sort of sex. Really upset and stressed out. I just want a solution. The Dr. suggested that a yeast infection could be possible. But that is what he is treating me for and has not been successful. What worries me is that I am going to the absolute best urologist in town and paying thousands out of pocket.

It could be kidney stones, have you ever had kidney stones? They are very hard to diagnose, ask your doctor for a KUB in this test, the doctor will look at your kidneys, bladder, and urethra for stones. I highly doubt that you have an STD considering your tests are all negative.
