Very mysterious case, feel like i'm going crazy

whoever can figure this out gets a hundred gold stars for the day. i'll go over the whole thing chronoligcally

July 2009
healthy 22 year old female, was never sick! suddenly developed neck pain - thought i had pulled a muscle. got steadily worse until i could not turn my head, it was horribly painful and stiff. saw a chiropractor, got the adjustment and he blamed my uncomfortable car seats. several hours later developed a high fever, family doc sent me to ER. was severely dehydrated, feverish - they took xrays, ultrasounds, bloodwork, even got a huge needle in my spine. was released the next day, prescribed painkillers and flexerol and an antibiotic. all tests came back perfectly normal - doctors attributed episode to an unidentified viral infection.

August 2009 - October 2010
every three-four weeks i would develop a high fever, sore throat and chills, like clockwork. had numerous bloodtests and swabs, all came back normal. thyroid levels checked in February 2010, normal. during this time i was also very fatigued and noticed changes in my skin and hair texture - large amounts of hair would come out in the shower. i gained 20 lbs although my eating habits had not changed. blood pressure skyrocketed, was attributed to anxiety, xanax prescribed.

October 2010 - April 2011
very suddenly developed extreme dizziness, nausea, severe upper right abdominal pain, especially after eating anything on October 29th 2010. this would persist for the next several months. the fevers stopped when the abdominal pain started.
-bloodwork: normal
-ultrasdound upper gi: normal, except for very small cherry hemangioma on liver.
-ultrasound lower gi: normal
-upper endoscopy: normal
-hida scan: normal
-gastric emptying study: normal
was treated for acid reflux, no help. referred to an allergist, nothing. eventually we went ahead and had my gallbladder removed. it turns out my gallbladder had NOT been working, although there were no stones and all tests came back normal. the gallbladder had not been inflating and there was undigested fat built up inside of me - the doctors couldnt say why it wasnt working. all abdominal pain and nausea stopped and i had recovered from the surgery quickly. lost 15 pounds in the month that followed.

May 2011 to present
developed extreme fatigue several weeks after surgery - thought maybe it was related to that. soon developed dizziness, difficulty thinking/concentrating, SEVERE hip pain (can't walk some days), right flank pain, frequent urge to urinate, lower right abdominal pain with intercourse, muscle/joint pain throughout trunk and a persistent swollen/irritated neck/throat. despite sleeping normally, i keep falling asleep during the day, even at work. white spots have appeared all over my arms and chest.
-urinalysis: normal
-bloodwork: normal (did not test for thyroid), no lymes
-ultrasound of neck: revealed two nodules on the thyroid gland, on 0.7 cm the other only 0.5 cm. the drs who reviewed the ultrasound can't agree on whether to do an FNA.

my family doctor is out of ideas and has referred me to a rheumatologist, but i can't get an appointment until the end of August. he said to wait 3-4 months before we look at my thyroid again.

my only meds are adderol for adhd and oral contraceptive, gianvi.

i am seriously starting to feel like i am losing my mind. i feel like crying all of the time, i am just so tired and i don't want to be sick anymore! if anyone can hazard a guess or give advice i would really appreciate it. if anyone has had a similar experience, i would really like to hear from you, too. i don't know how much more of this i can take.

See an endocrinologist!  Have your hormone levels checked!  You have the textbook symptoms of an adrenal gland disorder.

Adrenal glands produce three hormonal steroids.  Too much or too little of any of those hormones can cause a wide array of symptoms, including every single one you listed.  Symptoms can come and go, and illness or extreme stress can trigger the disease to show itself.

I am not a doctor, but researched this on the internet...
The good news is that malfunctioning adrenal glands are an easy thing to test for, and easily treated with medication.  But you have to go to an endocrinologist, someone who knows what they are looking for!

Go to the following website... it will allow you to add additional symptoms, or remove additional symptoms.  Each combination of symptoms will tell you a list of possible causes:

You might want to have all your levels retested!  They could have changed and you could have been at either end of the "normal" range.

no bw since feb 2010 - normal - do you think the levels could've changed much? two drs want to biopsy the nodules but the only place that does those kind of tests around here wont do it unless they are larger than 1 cm.

It sounds a little similar to what my mother goes through. She has a condition with symptoms similar to what you have. It's called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and what it is, is that she's tired all the time and is in pain if she doesn't get a nap in the middle of the day. She has other conditions such as osteoarthritis, which is arthritis in her spine. Which is similar to your symptom of stiff muscles in the neck. She often complains about waking up with a stiff neck for days on end. Chronic fatigue syndrome has many other symptoms such as dizziness, fever, and chills. There is no procedure to diagnose you with Chronic fatigue syndrome but they have to do a bunch of tests to eliminate possible other causes. Which is seems that you've done a lot of tests to eliminate many of those causes. I hope this helps you.
