Hi there: I am a healty 44 year old male, other than allergies. I am so glad I saw this forum. Six weeks ago the side of my faceFace pain and top of my headHead and face reconstruction Head injury Head lice Indications of head injury Radial head injury was numb for two days and it went away completely. Then two weeks later my entire front waist and abdomen area became numb and remained that way for two weeks and went away. A week or two later the entire bottoms of both of my feet and toes went numb and have been that way for 10 days constant with no relief. The numbnessNumbness and tingling and tingling is my only symptom ( I am having no other problem). I went to my doctor and they started with bloodwork. The results came back today and all looks good except what the doctor called a profound vitamin D deficiency. He claims this could be causing the numbnessNumbness and tingling I am experiencing. He put me on a once a week vitamin D pill, like 50,000 units in measure I believe. Has anyone out there ever heard of a vitamin D deficiency causing numbnessNumbness and tingling such as this? I see a lot of issues on the forum with aches and pains but don't think I saw any numbnessNumbness and tingling complaints. Thanks much !
Yes, I too have the same problem(s) with additional pain through the rib cage. I also have a vitamin D deficiency and taking same type of pill as you as well and supplementing with calicum & vitamin D. I've been taking the presecription now for about 5 weeks and things have gotten a bit better. Everything I have read states it can take up to 6 months to get your levels back to the normal range. Getting direct sunshine for 15 minutes 3 to 4 times a week is the best source for vitamin D. Your not alone.
Lack of vitamin D ca cause all sorts of aches and pains and numbness in
your body..terrible ones in fact....If you don't get enough sun (at least 20 minutes/day), you could even develop rickets in this day and age! (who would have thought?!)
I found out last year I have a hypothyroid. So, just last month, I found I am Vit D deficient. I wonder if the two are related. Dr said it was from not getting enough sun, and also as we age the body doesn't absorb it as well. I n any case, I take 50,000 iu a week for 3 months then 1000 a day after. And blood tests in Oct to check my level. And yes, My muscles are sore and I am weak. Who knows if it is from the thyroid or Vit D.
no, I have never personally experienced numbness from Vitamin D deficiency. That's not to say it isn't the case with you. Maybe it's nerves, it will probably go away.
I have been having numbness in my right leg and foot, it is numb and tingly all the time. I also have muscle spasms all over my body, you can't really notice them but i can feel them and they get pretty didtracting at times .I had blood work done as well and my vitamin D was low. my doctor said it can also cause low back pain. I am taking 5,000mg per day right now. I starated about a week ago.I don't notice much change yet but I heard it takes a while.
