Vomiting 17 Month Old

I have a very strange situation happening with my 17 month old son. He seems to have some sort of hyperactive tactile or olfactory sensitivity, but with NO other symptoms typical of children with DSI or other sensory processing disorders.

Our problem is that he gags and vomits multiple times a day- every day- when he touches/smells something that he finds to be gross. (So far the triggers have been playdoh, diaper cream, pumpkin guts, etc.) This is starting to disrupt our day to day lives because the heaving sometimes lasts up to 20 minutes. It is the strangest thing in the world.

Our pediatrician had no idea what to tell me. He is sending us to an ENT, contacting a neurologist and, under my request, ordering a sensory evaluation from an OT. (Though, as I said, he has no other symptoms of concern in this capacity. Fine motor, gross motor and language are all great.)

A little medical background on him:
He was a preemie: 6 weeks early
He has severe Asthma and uses a nebulizer twice a day, everyday
He has severe Acid Reflux Disease and take Prevacid daily

Has anyone ever seen ANYTHING like this? We totally stumped our Ped. but we need answers!
