At the end of January I woke up to a numb lower abdomen on the left side. I have function of the muscles but it is numb to the touch, just like when I had my c-section 11 years ago. I have numbnessNumbness and tingling on the right side as well but feeling in the middle. This is below my belly button. My urinary tract is numb, although I have perineal feeling, also my rectum inside is numb and I have spotsBirthmarks - pigmented Liver spots Measles, koplik spots - close-up Mongolian blue spots uf numbnessNumbness and tingling on my inner thighs near my perinium. I have controlControl Control rx over bladder and bowels, sometimes I do have slight bladder leakage. More recently I have been having pains in my arms that come and go and I am extremely fatigued. I have gone to multiple doctors, dealt with spinal taps, brain and full spine MRIs and a slew of blood tests, but everything is negative except for some minor bulging disks in L5 and S1. My neurologist told me there was nothing showing up so just deal with it, but I seem to be getting worse and am VERY frusterated. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this??? PLEASE HELP! I'm only 32 and hate feeling like I'm 80!
Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
There is a possibility that you have ‘pudendal nerveNerve biopsy Nerve conduction velocity neuralgia’, with numbnessNumbness and tingling in the area supplied by the nerve. Please go through this link and see if the symptoms match: http://www.pudendal.info/info/SymptomsInfo.htm
A neurologist will usually follow four steps to diagnosis. “The predominant factor in the diagnoses of pudendal neuralgia are the symptoms.
Then, the medical exams that one should have are:
1. The clinical exam
2. MRI or CT Scan
3. Pudendal Nerve Motor Latency Test (PNMLT)
4. Diagnostic block”
You can refer to this link for more details: http://www.pudendal.info/info/DiagnosisInfo.htm
The other possibility is transverse myelitis due to viral pathology. However based on your symptoms looks unlikely. Maybe you should look at the bulging disc between L5 and S1. You could take another opinion.
Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
