What causes unwanted weight loss while sleeping ?

I consistently lose 4 - 5 pounds every time I sleep. I average 5 -7 hours of interrupted sleep, no sweating, 1 or 2 bathroom trips per night and drink water after urinating. I do not dream or have rapid heart rates. 100/60 is my average blood pressure. Blood glucose stays in the 80's and 90's 24 hours a day. Towards the morning I start getting bad cramping in my feet and lower legs. This has been going on for about 8 months. I am 6'0 155 lbs right before bed and 150 lbs. when getting up in the am. My doctor says this is probably just water loss but I don't see how that is possible. Does anybody have any ideas why this is happening ?

Hello~I would certainly ask your GP for a complete blood panel work up to see what is going on. I don't see this could be related to water loss, but I am no doctor. The cramps in your feet and lower legs is due to a calcium/magnesium deficiency, I would take a good multi mineral complex with these in it.

have lost about 25 pounds over the last 8 months but have upped my calorie intake to about 3000 daily and now my weight is staying steady even with the sleeping loss. I am not a real active person and eat very healthy
