Hi
Thanks for keeping me posted!
This is because when you are lying down, the esophageal sphincter relaxes. This makes it easier for food to come up and also for blood. If you lie down at an angle of 45º then you will not face this problem.
Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Thanks very much for your reply . Just another thing that I would like to ask before going to see my physician again . I'm not bleeding when I'm walking or doing any other things on day to day basis, it only happens when my body is in horizontal position . Even if I lay down just for a half an hour I have to spit the blood again always. So im just wondering why is that happening only when Im sleeping or laying down but not when I'm walking or doing different stuff. Please comment on that if you have any suggestions. Regards.
Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
I am glad all lung causes have been ruled out. GERD, severe acidity, or bleeding at the esophageal sphincter can all cause blood in the mouth. If it is frank red blood, then maybe there is a bleeding point at the beginning of food pipe. If it is brownish in color, it could be coming from stomach due to a bleeding ulcer.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. I would strongly recommend you to see a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system). Maybe your physician can recommend someone.
Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Sorry mistake... I meant to say that there is nothing wrong with my lungs.
