What do I have and should I worry

by HappyGlenda, Jul 04, 2007 12:00AM
on 6/26 I was on my way to my doctor when I felt pain in my knees. I arrived there and I got nausea and had to leave. My pain increased and when to every joint. My knees, hands, elbows, ankles and feet, bottom and top of my feet. It lasted for 24 hours. I thought I had the flu until it happened on 7/3. Same systems but this time they are lasting longer. I also have developed a rash on both of legs that started on 7/2, bottom and worked up my leg.

Hi Glenda,

I would consider seeing a rheumatologist. There are some autoimmune condtions where you can have a rash and joint pain --- lupus and rheumatoid arthritis are two that come to mind.

You may want to consider asking your primary care physician to order labwork on you first. An ANA will check for any (unspecified) autoimmune disease and an RF will check for rheumatoid arthritis.
