What is wrong with me?

Hi all, this is going to be a long story as Im not sure what Im going to mention is related or not...

About 6 months ago I got was diagnosed with Chronic Gastroentiritis - I was in Bangkok at the time and had been travelling around South East Asia, I was very ill and wasnt able to keep anything down (going to the toilet every 10-20 minutes and vomiting bile) I eventually went to the hospital and was there for 5 days on a drip and what seemed like endless amounts of Anti-biotics. The English there wasnt terribly good and I dont know what tests they ran, I understand I had blood in my stools and they also treated me for parasites (just in case).

Anyway, 6 months later I am back in the UK. I have felt 'normal' for a good few months before now, However, I feel now that something just isnt right with my stomach. I often feel full even when I havent eaten alot, and sometimes I get a weird feeling where i dont know if im really hungry or if its just a weird pain. Its hard to explain. I seem to be passing gas alot more than usual and feel a bit acidy in my stomach. I also burp up vomit fairly often too.

I stupidly types in these symptoms into google and now Im paranoid that I have some form of cancer. I know I should go to the doctors, but I was just hoping someone could put my mind at ease here first?

Thank you for you help in advance :)

Hi and sorry that you are having pain and distress.    Am not a doc, but am well read in various ailments as thru the years have had alot of health issues.   Would like to put your mind at ease as this does not appear to be cancer related at all.   Your symptoms appear to be viral or bacterial related.   That could have created gastritis, which set into motion many other issues.  The blood in stool usually could be worrisome if it were tarry or blackish in nature.   The stomach grumbling is a benign condition, and has no significant worry.  Gastritis is inflammation in the lining of the stomach, and could be whats complicating your situation.   I would avoid alcohol, smoking, spicy foods, and try eating bland for a few days.   With that an over the counter acid reducer such as pepto bismal or liquid medicine that coats the stomach.  Have had cancer twice, and very much doubt that you need to worry that it's part of this scenario.   Try this for a few days and see how it goes.   Sometimes if it is bacterial additional meds are needed.    Viral infections clear on there own given time.   Should this continue, a doctor would be your best course of action.
Be well, and hope this helps........Kim
