What's going on with my son

my five year old son experienced a nose bleed in school yesterday during an outing for lunch.  The teacher described it as a significant amount of blood but I can not give an exact estimate on volume. she stated that it soaked a formal dining room napkin. he stated that his throat started to hurt him and then the nose bleed started.  Today he is complaining of abdominal pain and refuses to eat.  He also has a temp 101.6.  When asked to pinpoint the exact location he points to his left lower abdominal quadrant. Could it be appendicitis?

my little brother gets those. he may have a sensitive nose. where it will bleed to the littlest things. heat, too much water in it, while a runny nose, fevers. while the bloody nose it can effect other parts of the body because of the blood lose. best thing is to stop it as fast as could. cold rag and tip the head back/up.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Left lower quadrant pain cannot be due to appendicitis as this is on right side. Either your son has swallowed the nose bleed and that is causing problems or there is a gut pathology such as IBS or Crohn’s or even celiac disease or lactose intolerance. The cause of nose bleed must be found out. It could just be heat or overactivity or bumping head or nose. Else it could be nasal polyp, a tumor, a foreign body or even allergic rhinitis. Please take your son to his pediatrician without delay.
Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
