When the ovaries release an egg, the uterus will produce thick, clear mucous, stringy like eggwhite.
There may be a very small amount of blood in this.
The menstrual period should begin fourteen days after ovulation.
When the egg releases from the ovary, you might experience a short, sharp pain, either on the left or the right side, in the lower abdomen.
This typically varies from left to right, each month, and is known as mittelschmerz.
My periods are semi normal, abit short. Around day 3 or 4, my last day of my period I have nothing but this watery discarge. I do not have any problems, or serious concerns. My periods are normal save for the discarge.
It has no real smell, and is in a heavy enough ammount that I warrent a tampon. Even with a tapon to control the discarg, I tend to overflow and gush a little.
I suspect, some of this is just extra fluid build up / water weight being released from bloating. During my period, I tend to urinate alot, as my body purges the extra water weight. I usually gain and loose around 5 pounds each time my period comes and goes, due to the bloating.
I am not a doctor, but I figure that this discharge is one of the many ways my body sheds the water it retained.
Your best bet is probably to wait and see what happens this cycle. Unless the discharge is foul smelling, white, thick, clotted, etc. then it's probably nothing to worry about. If it still bothers you then, of course, you should see your doctor just to be sure.

Hope this helps.
