Why do I get phantom droplets on my arms and legs?

For several years now I've had the sensation that water is dripping from the ceiling onto my legs and arms. It is always cold and I'm always shocked when I automatically touch the spot and it's dry as a bone. Even though I can't confirm the water dropped on my body with my fingers and eyes, it feels like the ceiling is leaking and I have to move just to give myself a bit of a psychological break. It's profoundly disturbing that I can't trust my own body/skin sensations, but otherwise so far just an annoyance. What causes this? I'm 53.
