Why does this happen???

I just stood up to fast cuz my sister called me and when I got to her room I got the light headed feeling and is everything from my face to my thighs were tingiling why does this happen??? A few weeks ago I stood up to fast getting out of the bathtub to change a song on my iPod and I think I actualy lost concousness because I don't remember falling but I do remember ending up on the ground!!! And last summer I stood up to fast and my legs shook and I dropped the phone I was taking down stairs to put away. And in the middel of the year I stood up to fast and I feel to my knees I'm not sure if that was my body doing that selfconously because if I dident I would of gone face first down the stairs!!! But everytime this happens I have no control over my body for 30 seconds to minute or more. Though today was atlwast a minute I'm not sure. And usualy I am completly awear of everthing going on but not the last couple times the time when I fell getting out of the tub I don't really remember falling (oh and I stood up to fast almost passing out think I may have only a few minutes befor but dident fall) and today when it just happend I wasent aware of anything happening somthing was going threw my head like a dream when it happend but I don't remember what it was!!! Though I was partly aware once I started coming back of everything from my face to my thoghs tingling mostly my face and thighs!!! I stand up to fast almost everyday but usualy it passes with in 30 seconds and isent anything serious usualy but times today it is worse than normal!!! Why is this??? And my sister had asked me a qestoin befor it set in I think I heard half of it but anyways by times the feeling had passed I had completly forgotten what she said!!! Why ia this??? And usualy it passes of I keep walking but if I stop it worsens!!! Why is this all happening??? Ik not sure if this information os important but I am 16 year old female I am 5 foot 10 and 149lbs and have been trying to lose weight since late may or early June but this light headedness has been happening since way befor I started trying to lose weight!!! Why is this all happening??? Ph and the other night I couldent stop shaking because my insides felt cold!!! I fealt warm on the outside though and the air conditoning was not on!!! This lasted half an hour to an hour I think and for some reason I seem to feel more light headed during the summer or right befor summer. This year right now it seems to be happening alot but last year it was right becor summer and at the begginging of summer last year it died down after I stood up to fast and my legs shook oh and also last year I was doing dishes and I had already been standing for at least 5 minutes when I got the light headed feeling! I don't do drugs I don't drink and I don't smoke. Though I am on a medication for ADD and it does say on the side may couse dizzyness could that be causing this all??? Though last year when my legs shook I had forgotten to take my medication for a week or 2 and I did take my medication today but I have been forgetting to take it alot because it's summer so I don't really have a schedual do you think my medication could be related??? Because even though it says may cause dizzyness I don't think it would make my legs shake or make me actualy faint ( I'm not sure if I took my medication the day I fell and don't remember falling.

Sorry if I'm rambeling on I just keep remembering  more what could be causing this???

Ok so you said stress could be related do you think that then that mabey being depressed is connected??? I'm not positive if I am depressed or not but I am almost positive that I am
depressed. When I go online and check out ute symptoms I match usualy all of them except substance abuse.

I'll say check beside all the symptoms I have
—Depressed mood or sad all the time- check
—Lack of energy feeling tyred all the time- check
—loss of intrest in activities once enjoyed- check
—with drawl from family or friends- check
—iratibility, anger or anxiety- check
—inability to concentrate- check
—significant weight loss- check (though I'm trying to lose weight and am willing to go a few or as many pound under weight to have a flat stumic but am helthy weight now)
—significant change in sleep patterns- check
—Feelings of guilt or worthlessness- check
—Aches and pains with no known cause- check
—Not caring about anything- check
—Thoughts of death or suicide- check
and yes these have lasted WAY longer than 2 weeks this has been going on for about a year since my brother was hit by a truck and killed last summer!!!

So do you think it is connected??? Though that wouldent explain the shaking legs because that happened befor my brother passed.

Sorry if it os completly off topic but I am just wondering if it os connected???

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
There are two main possibilities. One is postural hypotension and the other is vasovagal attack. In postural hypotension, the blood pressure falls when you stand and causes all the symptoms that you are suffering. Dehydration, certain medications, heart problems, untreated diabetes, and nervous system disorders can all cause this. TIAs or transient ischemic attacks can also be the cause. Certain internal ear problems can also affect blood pressure monitoring by the body by not properly signaling a change in position. Blood pressure monitoring, tilt table test, EKG, heart echo, ambulatory blood pressure recording are all required for diagnosis.
In vasovagal attack, which almost acts the same way, the complex group of symptoms are mediated by the vagus nerve. This nerve is irritated by prolonged standing, standing up suddenly, stress, pain, hunger, dehydration, intense emotion etc.  A tilt table test, holter monitor, echocardiogram etc are done for confirmed diagnosis.
Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
