WoW!!!! Way to itchy to hande!! HELP!!

by mom2mytwinz, Jul 03, 2009 10:50AM
I am constantly bothered by little bumps that start off in the beginning different each time and heal different but ALWAYS leave SCARS!! ... [More]

They start off as what appears to be a ant bite or mosquitos, as it progresses,it(the red or dark blue/black dot)swells up and is really red and itchy leaving it all welted around just that dot! I have to take Zyrtec to help, but the itching is unbelievable!

I have one on my foot that is healing up and I showed my doctor to, when it first appeared......she didn't seem worried about it. Anyhow, they are HOT, ITCHY, WELTED, and sometimes blistered and the scab when healing/healed is sometime black and leaves a circular scar, this started  in Feb/Mar of this year.

Pics on my profile.

Any advice would be helpful!

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
This looks like urticaria or hives. The swellings or wheals produced after itching can be pale (of skin color) or red. Urticaria is usually triggered by allergens, such as drugs, foods, insect bites, inhaled substances, in response to sunlight, cold, heat, stress, exercise, or a viral infection. Other common allergens are pollen, mold, dust, pet dander, or cosmetics. Since you experienced an itch, just go over these possibilities in your mind. Something may strike you. In many cases, hives clear up themselves and don’t require diagnosis or treatment. However if they persists you may need to see a specialist called an allergist to determine what is causing the reaction.
Also get your blood sugar checked. Diabetes can delay healing.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
