abdominal pain/right side and back

hi there ,
I am 31 female who is suffering from mid abdominal pain for over a week. I thought i pulled a muscle but pain has gradually become worse, but not overwhelming. Went to doctor who ( as I have no other symptoms other than anxiety of over abdominal) thinks it might be muscular and prescribed anti- inflammatory for a few days. To which have made no effect. I have pain in mid abdomen right side over navel which seems to be spreading downwards towards my groin. My back and hip, on right hand side also giving pain but none of which are sore to touch as the pain is radiating rather than severe in one spot. I have no other symptoms.  I am average weight and suffer no allergies, take no medication and have a great diet. I have felt tired of late and run down so wondering if this is a low-grade kidney infection/stone or gall bladder problem. My family have history of IBS and Celiac but  I have not had any symptoms of this of yet.

Will be getting tested for all this once I finish anti-inflams, hopefully it's just a sprained muscle.

any thoughts would be great - anxiety of pain is keeping my up at night which isn't helping.

many thanks

s.

Do you have your appendix?  When I had similar symptoms I was checked for appendicitis.  I didn't have the usual symptoms...nausea, fever, all that other stuff, just pain.  I think you should see your doctor again.

Sounds like a kidney stone. Or pyelonephritis you need an IVP study done. Sometimes the pain is referred to other areas & is known to radiate. Good luck!

better to scan and discuss with your doctor or go to emergency and tell them, sometimes they know that, i heard that if you have a pain close that area, it should be stones in the kidney so better to double check,  try to see doctor when you get pain, go to emergency.

got scan and blood tests, still waiting on results but preliminary said everything looked normal. Pain has died down considerably after a week of bed rest and drinking litres of water everyday. Still in the dark to what it is. Will no more when bloods come back. Will keep you posted - thanks for the tips!
