adhesions in particular with prior abdominal wall repair surgery

4 years ago I had perforation of the small bowel which resulted in a stoma and ileostomy for 5 months. Thereafter I had my bowel reconnected and thereafter additional tummy tuck and abdominal wall repair whereby I have a large mesh from the sternum region all the way to the pubic region, because at the time of the bowel perforation my rectus abdominus muscle became atrophised.
As of recent, I get very bad "attacks", whereby I have excruciating pain on the right quadrant of the abdomin (abdomen) at the site of where my stoma was. The pain also is in waves of spasms that then become continuous in nature.  I have had scans to ascertain whether there is an obstruction of the bowel or to ascertain if anything out of the ordinary appears on the scan, however, the scan seems not to show anything abnormal. I was wandering whether adhesions could cause this excruciating pain which can last several hours and is only passified with the assistance of "valium"(a muscle relaxant). My colo-rectal surgeon has been marveleous, but is unable to ascertain the cause of this pain when I get these "attacks" . Is there perhaps any suggestions you can think of that may require further investigation to ascertain the CAUSE of the problem. I have also had in the past, Gut Utility Studies which revealed a time delay factor for food to pass through the Gut. I really do not know what to do any more as my surgeon who is very hands on , is also unsure as to the cause of the problem.
Hoping you can perhaps shed some light on this problem.
