I have pernicious anemia and if it is - that it is very treatable IF it is caught early. If it isn't it can be LIFE THREATENING! So see your doctor if you think that the symptoms fits.
You say that you have acne...I have Rosacea, which is a close related to acne. I had moderate to severe breakouts that required me to take antibiotics to control. I have done this for more than 10 years, but I found a supplement that changed all that! It is called Omega fatty acids (again, check out the medical websites and get info on it). The one that I take is: 21st century - Triple omega complex 3 - 6 - 9. Reflux Free. I take 1 softgel a day. After being on it for a month..I was able to go off my antibiotics and my face has cleared up alot, almost no signs of breakouts! There is alot of good brands out there, just be sure you get one that is Reflux Free..some people have a problems of burping back the fish oil in it, but the reflux free doesn't do that. Try it you will be glad that you did! GOOD LUCK!TAKE CARE..KEMOSABI
I am not sure what problem I have is, but many of the things I read sound similar to some of my symptoms. I am guessing I have had my problem(s) since my late 20's, I am now 46. I guess because this feels anomynous to me, I have some comfort in discussing it.Since it has started it has only been a few years that I have learned and gained some control of it. I often have the bloting, and sometimes it is accompanied with cramping. I beleive the cramping is probably caused by internal bleeding inside my rectum. Currently when I deficate, I must do it prior to showering, because when finished deficating, the inside of my rectum comes out, and most of the time the amount of swollen flesh is large enough to fit in the palm of my hand. Going directly into the shower allows me in private to push by hand everything that came out back back up inside myself. Many times I feel when pushing back inside of me, there the is a pulip type of growth that dangles off of my internal tissue. I have had minimul acne issues, but I have them. I have another skin disorder, if I remeber correctly, since my rectal condition has been with me. The skin on my arms, neck and chest area has many, many blotches, similar to the blotches my step-mother had when she suffered with Lupus. My blotches are very sensitive to sunlight, heat and or persperation. The irratation is so severe if I am not careful, that it causes me to scratch and itch, uncontrollably, until I cause bleeding. The only releif I know of is a shower. Topical treatments tend to feel as though I have coated the problem areas with oil, and intensifies the scratching.
Back to the rectal problem, even though I now have some control over it, I find myself on occasions, having to run home, to change pants and underwear, because I have discovered I have been bleeding, because it is so warm, I guess body temature, until I stand up I don't notice there was / is a problem back there.I have learned that some foods are a problem, such as nuts and popcorn. After eating these foods, I find my shower time is no help, that throughout the day, I have to find a restroom, with paper towels, toilet paper, to moisten and push my insides back up where they belong, as well as cleaning up all the blood. The it feels in these during the worst of times, is that the bleeding is what causes daily multiple fixes. I suffer frequently if not daily, with loss of energy, lack of sleep. Joints are sore, with a noticeable right side of my body issues. I am 6'2, caucasion, weighing approximately 170lbs., never have had any weight issues, try to always eat healthy. I have not eaten beef or pork, for nearly 20 years. I do eat poultry and fish, and more than anything else, because of the bleeding I eat once a month chicken livers, thinking I need to replace iron and nutients lossed from the bleeding I suffer with. I don't rarely ever take over the counter drugs, including aspirin, have hardly ever taken prescription drugs, because of my strong beleif that the body does its own healing.
I am so sorry to hear about your problems. You should be on medication for the UC. Even tho there is no cure for ulcerative colitis, it is very important that you get the disease under control by taking medication. You need to see a GI as soon as possible.
Hope you are able to do so, and get well soon.
One thing that you have to keep in mind is that ulcerative colitus and celiac disease and malabsorbsion syndrome and others can often be mistaken for each other. Their is a number of things that happens when you have these kind of disorders. One is an auto-immune disorder called pernicious anemia. Some of the symptoms are: tired all the time - no matter how much you sleep, you are always tired. Headaches that are there all the time..you can dull them with pain killers, but they are always there. Diarrhea. Numbness and tingling in the hands, arms, legs, feet. Upset stomach. rapid heartbeat. memory loss. Look at the different medical websites and check out pernicious anemia and see if they fit your symptoms. One of the sites is: www.webmd.com
