anil bleeding possible Hemorrhoids???

by swatson1225, Aug 23, 2006 12:00AM
Hello everyone!  I am having a problem that is a little embarrassing for me... For the past few days I have been bleeding from my butt and I am not sure why.  it is not painful but I find it weird.  It usually only happens when i try to go to the bathroon (#2) & when i try to go i have a pain in the right side of my stomach.  I don't know much about hemorrhoids but could this be the cause and how do I tell.  I did have a child about 1 year ago but never went "into labor" b/c I had to have an emergency c-section so I don't think that could have caused hemorrhoids. I would love not to go to the doc for this b/c it is a little embarrassing but if i should I definitely will.

Yup. Get it taken care of. You lose a little blood every time and eventually your hematocrit goes down to zilch. You will become light-headed and a traffic hazard.

Oh, as to the right sided pain, it's probably not serious, but you really need to see an M.D. A little bit of Senna tea and daily aloe vera and a liquid diet for a week or two will generally give the intestines a bit of a rest.

I would add a little fiber to your diet to aid in moving your bowels a little easier( a small glass of prune juice, maybe some bran flakes not too much though it will make you gassy) Every time you push your straining the blood vessels surrounding your bum and if you are straining on a regular basis you're only making it worse and quite possibly the hems are internal which is not uncommon. That could also be what is causing the pain in your stomach too.It wouldn't hurt to give your doctor a call and discuss this with him or her. Believe me they've seen and heard worse things than maybe a hemi or two!!
Good Luck!

you absolutely should see your doctor.  while there can be MANY benign reasons for blood in your stool, you don't want to take the chance that it's something more serious.  if all you get is peace of mind, it's worth it :)
