ankle pain. is it serious?

ok. i was playing pool with some friends he other day and everything was fine. and i was walking in my socks. then for no reason my ankle started to hurt. i didnt twist it, it was more of an internal hurt. like inside of my ankle. and in less than 30 seconds i couldnt put any weight on my ankle. and now its an off and on pain but i can feel the pressure inside of my ankle at all times. I just want to know if i should be worried about this or should go to the doctor, and what would have caused this injury.

I  played badminton for many years but nothing had happened. I stopped playing for couple of months now.  Since then I developed some pain on my right ankle, it didn't sprained nor twist, but whenever i stand  and walk i've internal pain in my ankle.

I really  want to know what should I do, I am  worried about this, should I go to the doctor? Is this normal?
Please suggest me as soon a spossible.

Thanks

Hi,

It appears that even though you did not twist it, there was some injury, like a sprain in your ankle. These may also be caused by some cramps in the small muscles of the legs.

I think you may wait for a few days and try home-based therapy before you may actually see a doctor. You may try hot fomentation and local ointments and applications for the pain in the meanwhile. Use flat shoes and avoid any brisk walking or exercises for a while. Apply a bandage around the ankle so as to keep the ankle in a fixed resting state.

In case this does not  help in a couple of days, you may have to visit your doctor and get this examined again.

Hope this helped, let me know if you may need any more information
