Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Generally flashes, streaks of lights and star bursts are due to floating vitreous and less commonly due to migraine and or retinal detachment. Nothing can usually be done for this (floating vitreous) and patient has to learn to live with it. What you have is probably a visual aura of the actual migraines. The ocular symptoms can precede or accompany a migraine. The other possibility is a retinal migraine. This can cause repeated episodes of diminished vision or blindness. This may precede or accompany a headache. You could be having this and this can persist for hours together every day. Discuss with a migraine specialist and an eye specialist (to rule out eye causes). Take care!
that can be to much pressure on ur optic nerve, mayb the start of sinussitus how long has it been happning? xx
The obvious question is have you had an eye exam? It could be migraine related, as migraines cause eyes to be light sensitive. I would consult an eye doctor as a first step. Good Luck!
It may be a "silent migraine" or your blood pressure may have spiked... that's what my moms told me when it's happened to me before... She had me take asprin (chew one) and I felt better shortly after. It is scary though, and overwhelming. Hope this at least gives you some what of a start to find your answer...
