Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
This loss of vision in the peripheral visual field can be due to optic nerve damage caused by glaucoma, high internal eye pressure, retinal detachment, occlusion of blood supply as in eye stroke, optic neuritis, and optic nerve edema.
It is difficult to say whether the loss of vision in the periphery is due to surgery. Please take a second opinion from another eye specialist.
Take care!
The blood may not have been visable to you but still be there. It is possible it was caused by the surgery or also possible that while healing, a coughing spell.....which can put alot of pressure on the eyeball, could have ruptured a blood vessel. As for another surgery to correct it, only an eye specialist can answer that for you.
