chest pain on left side muscle

by aruba78, Aug 03, 2008 02:36PM
I deal with panic attacks and I have had all kinds of tests done. ekg, stress test and blood work. All have come back to say my heart is ok. For the last few weeks I have been having a pain in my left chest muscle on the outter side of the muscle. It is a dull to sharp pain almost like a throbing pain. It comes and goes. When I think about it it seems to get worse. It does not hurt to breath, no dizziness, my heart only starts to race when I get worked up about it. It almost feels like a pulled muscle or a spasm. I went to the doctor last week and she ran an ekg when i was there. The doctor says it is my anxiety. Could anxiety be the cause of this? It just seems like it maybe something else. I also smoke.
