chronic muscle twitches

Hi,
I have chronic muscle twitches 24/7 and have had coming up to a couple of years, I have had tests done to rule out epilepsy and heart problems. The twitches are all through my body all the time and can twitch in more than one place at one time, I probably feel them them the strongest when I am trying to rest as they become quite annoying as they keep firing everywhere and it interferes with my sleep.. I have to take anti anxiety tabs to help relax at night so I can slow down otherwise I feel like I been running around the block and my pulse becomes heightened through my body..
Does anyone else have similar symptoms and any suggestions on what to do about it?

Those could also be related to a magnesium shortage.  It's hard to detect a magnesium deficiency as most of it is stored in our tissues. Blood tests only show magnesium deficiency when it is severe. You might want to see your doctor to get checked out.

Hi there :)  yes I do have other symptoms sometimes my whole body has a vibration running through it and if I lay my hand on someone they can feel it?
I also have frequent moments when I feel like i'm going to pass out but it only lasts for about 30 seconds not sure if it's all related though?

I had lots of muscle twitching, too, especially in my legs and lower torso.  Magnesium supplements helped me enormously. Anything with -ate on the end is absorbed better by the body than the plain magnesium supplement.  For example. Epsom salts are magnesium sulfate.  You can take some orally and / or take baths with a cup or two in warm water.

Too much can cause diarrhea. The maximum tolerable amount seems to be in the 500-600 mg range.

BTW - Do you have any other symptoms?

Well i had muscle twitches....and spasms, tics, cramps, tightness, pain, myclonic jerks (when falling asleep), full body myclonic seizures, internal tremors, heart rhythm problems...wow a lot of things affecting the muscles. :) The cause: severe magnesium deficiency.  Calcium contracts the muscles, magnesium relaxes the muscles.  A good article to check out: "Mark Hyman, MD: Magnesium: The Most Powerful Relaxation Mineral Available."
