coccydynia

I have been diagnosed with coccydynia, as well as two bulging discs.  The coccydynia has been an ongoing problem for over two years; the discs have been causing leg weakness and sciatica pain for about 4 months.  The disc issues are being addressed; however, I can't seem to find anyone that will address the coccyx pain which rates anywhere from a 7 to an 8 on the pain scale daily.  I already use the special cushions (which don't help) and take anti-inflammatories.  The only thing that makes the pain tolerable is pain medication, but I won't take it during the day because I teach.  I had two epidural injections for the discs; however, they did nothing to help the coccyx pain.  I have found very little information regarding treatment for coccydynia (other than removing the coccyx in very select cases).  Any information regarding treatment options would be greatly appreciated.
