constant severe cough for almost a week

One morning(March 13) I woke up with this cough, its very "loose" in the morning(only cough like that a few times) but during the day its dry. I don't have a runny nose, nor sneezing. Theres a very slight sore throat and a few days my voice got hoarse. But I cough so hard and so much that all the muscles in my stomach are sore, my rib pops, and my neck and back are sore all from coughing. I almost gag because I'm coughing so hard, like if I'm going to cough up my stomach. I have to take very shallow breaths, for if I take regular breaths it makes me cough more. I had a severe headache yesterday, and it went into my neck. I'm tired, but then again I'm tired all the time. Can someone tell me what this is or it could just be a virus. I tired pills for coughing, they're supposed to work for 8 hrs but haven't helped for more than 1/2 hour. Cough drops don't help either, its a constant tickle in my throat, it feels like theres a lump in my throat. If ANYBODY could help, or at least tell me what I can do to help the coughing I would really appreciate it!!

Sorry I can't help. The only time I have had this is when I have a lung infection, it took 2 lots of antibiotics and 3 lots of steroids to shift but I am asthmatic. Have you been to the docs yet? Hope you feel better soon
