continual headaches

Can you help ?
my wife is a fit 29 woman who has no ongoing medical problems. 3 weeks ago she started having headaches(front of head), these headaches were continual. Along with the headaches came a severe lower neck pain -  After a week she visited the doctor who noticed the optic nerve was 'blurred' and referred her straight to hospital. CT scans, lumber punctures, blood tests have all come back negative. she also suffers tingling of left side of the face and she also says her teeth hurt!. she is now on the waiting list to be seen (6 weeks waiting) and still has the same symptoms. PLEASE HELP !!

she did have a bad fall in December, breaking to ribs and hitting her head/neck.....connection ?

thanks for reading,

tony handley

Hi
Did your wife's doctor test her for Temporal Arteritis/Giant Cell. It sure sound like it. Post your question on the MA section, a doctor replied to mine. I have TA and your wife sounds like I did. I had headaches for one year and all the other symptoms. TA is serious and causes blindness if left untreated. Predisone is the treatment.
Just to be safe ask the doctor if he will test her for this. A biopsy of the temporal vein is the best test but a high sed rate is another indication.
I'm not a doctor but her symptoms match mine to a T. I don't know how old your wife is. This is most common in women and men 50 and up but some people are younger. It is more common in women, but this is a rare illness. If ou go to http://www.vasculitisfoundation.org/book/export/html/45
you will find information about Temporal Arteretis/Giant Cell. There are other sites but first please ask the doctor to test her for this illness to be safe. Please let me know what happens.
I will pray for her. I don't know what your beliefs are and I'm not trying to force mine on the two of you. Prayer works for me and its my way of letting you  know that I'm concerned about her.

I would recommend seeing a chiropractor for an adjustment.  It sounds like you wife's neck could possibly be out of alignment which can cause a ton of pain.  I suffered from migraines and neck pain my whole life, starting as a little girl and then I finally saw a chiropractor as an adult when I was pregnant.  I no longer have headaches or neck pain.
I really hope this helps and that your wife starts feeling better soon.
