could i be allergic or seneitive

hi everyone
i have an underactive thyroid and cannot tolerate more then 100mg of thyroxine per day i gat dizzy lightheaded anxiety i can handle 50mg no probs 75mg is a little annoying 100mg is a just bearable. so this has been the case for the last 2 yrs. 3 weeks ago i was given ammoxicillin for a chest infection after 5 days started to feel a little odd and on day 7 woke up feeling completely detatched and felt faint and had trouble taking a full breath i went to a & e was checked over and everything came back normal. the following few days i had tremors anxiety and could not sleep this lasted a few days. then i had an appointment with gp who told me i had h pylori from a test the month previous i was given 3 tablets to cure it and 1 of them was ammoxicillin and again after 3 days the same symptoms came back. i was told that i react badly to ammoxicillin and was given different meds which are ok.the thing that i need to know is that the only thing that ammoxicillin and thyroxine have in common is magnesium sterate and could this be the problem. is it possible to be sensitive ???
thanks for reading

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Magnesium stearate causes a sense of nausea, can cause vomiting and diarrhea. Hence this may not be the cause. It does not cause a feeling of detachment or tremors etc. Either you are taking more thyroid hormone than necessary or some other preparation should be tried. H pylori infection is treated with a combination of Omeprazole and antibiotics. Generally metronidazole is used in combination with Clindamycin or Clarithromycin. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. Take care!
