could it polyps?

hi im 17 years old. for about a year i been having poop that feels like needles. my stool is either hard or super soft, there is no good in between. For a few days about 4 months ago my stool was covered in red blood. usually every time i poop there is a tiny bit of bleeding on the toilet paper that i believe is cause by scatches from the poop or something. for a couple days now i have had white mucus or something on my stool. i am scared to even go the washroom because of the pain pushing it out. im a athlete, in top shape and i eat healthy. I hear only old people usually get colon cancer. I do not know im my grandma ever had colon cancer, but she has had cancer several times, the first time she was diagnosed at 7 months. im scared of polyps. my appitite has decreased and i am tired alot and  even get headaches more frequently. about two years ago i did have round worms but i got rid of them, and this is nothing like that. im starting to freak out please help.

Hello, while reading your post the first thing that came on my mind was ulcerative colitis. And from ulcerative colitis you can also develop polyps. But you should definitely go check it out cause whether it is UC or polyp if you don` t check it out it could only go worse. I know you are starting to freak out and that you are scared (which is a normal reaction), but don´t be. Doctors will find out whats wrong, and I suggest you to check it out sooner the better.
And do keep me posted on how you are doing...

Could just be hemroids. I had the same thing happen last year. I'm 29 almost 30. I did end up getting a colonoscopy done. And they did remove precancerous polyps.NOT many.  Had I waited till I was 40 or 50 like most people do I'd have cancer for sure. I have to get one now every 3 years. I would get it checked out. It's prob nothing. But I wouldn't take any chances either.
